The placement of IP partner Sigmund Gutman from Bingham McCutchen into the Los Angeles office of Proskauer. Mr. Gutman is an accomplished patent litigation partner with 20 years of industry experience. He will serve as Chair of Proskauer's Life Sciences Patent Practice.

The placement of products liability partner Julie Hussey, into the San Diego office of Perkins Coie. Ms. Hussey previously practiced at DLA Piper. She has extensive experience in drug and medical device, food and beverage, toxic tort and class action litigation and will help lead the build out of Perkins Coie's life sciences product liability practice.

The placement of highly regarded environmental partner Geoff Willis, from Sheppard Mullin into the Orange County office of Brown Rudnick. Mr. Willis will start Brown Rudnick's environmental practice on the West Coast.

The placement of nationally recognized life sciences partner, Robert C. Funsten, into Brown Rudnick's Orange County office. Mr. Funsten will assume the position of Co-Chair of Brown Rudnick's Global Life Sciences Group. Previously, Mr. Funsten served as Co-Chair of the Life Sciences practice group at Bingham McCutchen.

The placement of leading corporate partner, Numan Siddiqi, into Brown Rudnick's Orange County office. Mr. Siddiqi is Brown Rudnick's first transactional attorney on the West Coast. He joined the firm from Stradling Yocca.

The placement of highly regarded private client and estate planning partner, Domingo Such, into the Chicago office of Perkins Coie. Mr. Such was previously a partner in the Private Client Practice Group at McDermott Will & Emory. He is a fellow of the American College of Trust and Esate Counsel (ACTEC), an honor he achieved after only 13 years of practice and has previously been named to Worth Magazine's Top 100 Estate Planning Attorneys in the United States.

The placement of high profile, white collar and government enforcement partner, Stephen A. Best, into the Washington, D.C. office of Brown Rudnick. Mr. Best was previously a partner at Brownstein Hyatt, where he was Chair of that firm's White Collar Criminal Defense and Investigations Group. Prior to joining Brownstein Hyatt, Mr. Best Co-Chaired the Global White Collar and Government Investigations Group at Dewey LeBeouf.

The placement of Patricia Dondanville, a corporate and energy finance partner from Schiff Hardin, into the Chicago office of Reed Smith.

The placement of Michael Brito, an internationally recognized outsourcing and technology transactions partner from Fulbright, into the Dallas office of Akin Gump. Mr. Brito will lead the buildout of Akin's Global Outsourcing and IT Transactions practice.

The placement of Elliot Hinds, a leading energy transactional and project finance partner, from Goodwin Procter, into the Los Angeles office of Akin Gump, to help lead that firm’s strategic growth initiative in the renewable energy industry.

The placement of Dino Barajas, an internationally recognized leader in the domestic and cross-border energy and infrastructure/project finance and development practices, and the former Co-Chair of Morgan Lewis’ Latin American Practice Group, into the Los Angeles office of Akin Gump, to help lead expansion in that firm’s renewable energy and transactional practices.

The opening of Kaye Scholer’s Silicon Valley office with preeminent intellectual property trial lawyer William Coats, as Managing Partner. Mr. Coats was formerly with White & Case, where he significantly enhanced the profile of the firm’s Silicon Valley office by attracting key IP partners and groups during his tenure as Managing Partner of that office.

The placement of internationally recognized corporate and securities partner Howard Shecter, to be resident in both the Philadelphia and New York offices of Reed Smith. Mr. Shecter was most recently the leader of Orrick's Global M&A practice. Prior to that, Mr. Shecter served as both Firmwide Managing Partner and Chairman of Morgan Lewis.

The placement of Richard Scudellari into Reed Smith to open that firm’s Palo Alto office. Mr. Scudellari, a corporate partner formerly with the Palo Alto office of Morrison & Foerster, represents emerging growth and Fortune 500 companies conducting business in the Silicon Valley.

The placement of Richard Martin, an internationally recognized Securities Litigation partner and the former managing partner of Heller Ehrman's New York office, into the New York office of Orrick Herrington & Sutcliffe. Notably, Mr. Martin was the lead counsel to Deloitte & Touche in the Parmalat securities class-action litigation.

The placement of Daniel Offner, the former Chair of Nixon Peabody's intellectual property transactions group, into the Century City office of Loeb & Loeb. Mr. Offner is the initial hire for and will Chair Loeb's newly launched Video Game Entertainment Practice Group.

The placement of prominent trial attorney Elizabeth Mann as partner in the Los Angeles office of Mayer Brown. The placement of Daniel Zimmermann, formerly an associate at Cooley Godward, as a partner in the Silicon Valley office of Sonnenschein Nath & Rosenthal. Mr. Zimmermann's practice is focused on international business along with inbound and outbound venture capital transactions.

The placement of prominent FDA partner Bret Koplow from Patton Boggs to lead the FDA practice at Sonnenschein Nath & Rosenthal. In addition to his FDA expertise, Mr. Koplow has an active public policy practice representing FDA-regulated products manufacturers and health care services providers before Congress and various regulatory entities. Mr. Koplow is located in Sonnenschein's Washington DC office.

The placement of Armando Castro, formerly of Morgan Lewis & Bockius into Reed Smith. Mr. Castro, a Corporate and Securities partner and a well-known attorney in the clean technology/renewable energy sector, will play a significant role in expanding Reed Smith's corporate, venture and emerging growth company practice in their Silicon Valley office.

The placement of Geoffrey Aronow, former enforcement director of the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CTFC) and former managing shareholder of Heller Ehrman'sWashington office, into the Washington, D.C. office of Bingham McCutchen. Mr. Aronow's practice focuses on government enforcement actions, including proceedings at the Securities Exchange Commission, the CFTC and other regulatory agencies. Mr. Aronow has also served on the National Adjudicatory Council of NASD (now FINRA). This hire will help expand Bingham's international securities practice.
