The placement of Daniel Offner, the former Chair of Nixon Peabody's intellectual property transactions group, into the Century City office of Loeb & Loeb. Mr. Offner is the initial hire for and will Chair Loeb's newly launched Video Game Entertainment Practice Group.

The placement of Corporate partner David Frazee from Perkins Coie, into the Palo Alto office of K&L Gates. Mr. Frazee's extensive experience with corporate finance, international transactions and intellectual property will help to broaden the focus of the corporate practice, and strengthen the early-stage company practice in the Palo Alto office of K&L Gates.

The placement of Corporate and Securities Partner Michael Smith, into the New York office of Reed Smith. Mr. Smith is an internationally recognized securities expert with a focus on significant cross-border transactions. Prior to joining Reed Smith, Mr. Smith was a Corporate partner in the New York office of Patton Boggs.

The placement of internationally recognized corporate and securities partner Howard Shecter, to be resident in both the Philadelphia and New York offices of Reed Smith. Mr. Shecter was most recently the leader of Orrick's Global M&A practice. Prior to that, Mr. Shecter served as both Firmwide Managing Partner and Chairman of Morgan Lewis.

The placement of prominent trial attorney Elizabeth Mann as partner in the Los Angeles office of Mayer Brown. Ms. Mann will be involved in the build-out of Mayer Brown's West Coast Litigation practice. Prior to joining Mayer Brown, Ms. Mann was a partner in the Los Angeles office of McDermott, Will & Emery.

The placement of renewable energy and clean technology patent expert Chuck Holland as a partner in the Palo Alto office of K&L Gates. Formerly with Morrison & Foerster, Mr. Holland advises companies on a range of technologies, including solar energy, water purification, and alternate fuels, as well as technologies related to the life science industry.

We are pleased to have facilitated the successful merger of Bingham McCutchen with McKee Nelson, through the introduction of Reed Auerbach- Co-CEO of McKee Nelson to Jay Zimmerman- Chairman of Bingham McCutchen. The 120 attorneys of McKee Nelson have a top-tiered presence in varied practice areas including securities and white collar litigation, tax planning and tax controversy, corporate finance and capital markets. McKee Nelson's strengths in these key areas are complimentary to Bingham's market leading presence in the restructuring and insolvency, complex securities and financial litigation and regulation practices and will be enhanced by Bingham's solid international platform.  

The placement of Corporate partner David Bernstein from Clifford Chance into the New York office of K&L Gates. Mr. Bernstein was formerly Head of the Corporate practice at Rogers & Wells before that firm merged into Clifford Chance. During his affiliation with Clifford Chance, Mr. Bernstein held various positions of leadership including Head of the Corporate practice for the Americas. This placement was completed as a joint venture with Eolis Enterprises.

The placement of Daniel Zimmermann, formerly an associate at Cooley Godward, as a partner in the Silicon Valley office of Sonnenschein Nath & Rosenthal. Mr. Zimmermann's practice is focused on international business along with inbound and outbound venture capital transactions.

The placement of prominent FDA partner Bret Koplow from Patton Boggs to lead the FDA practice at Sonnenschein Nath & Rosenthal. In addition to his FDA expertise, Mr. Koplow has an active public policy practice representing FDA-regulated products manufacturers and health care services providers before Congress and various regulatory entities. Mr. Koplow is located in Sonnenschein's Washington DC office.

The placement of Armando Castro, formerly of Morgan Lewis & Bockius into Reed Smith. Mr. Castro, a Corporate and Securities partner and a well-known attorney in the clean technology/renewable energy sector, will play a significant role in expanding Reed Smith's corporate, venture and emerging growth company practice in their Silicon Valley office.

The placement of Jonathan Bristol, formerly of Thelen Reid, into the New York office of Winston & Strawn. Mr. Bristol focuses on private equity, real estate finance and investment and cross-border transactions in Asia.

The placement of a nine attorney Labor and Employment group, formerly of Thelen Reid in Los Angeles, into Reed Smith. The group includes partners Linda Husar, former national chair of Thelen's Labor and Employment practice and Thomas Hill, the former managing partner of Thelen's Los Angeles office.

The placement of Corporate partner James Mercer, III from the San Diego office of Duane Morris, into the San Diego office of Sheppard, Mullin, Richter & Hampton. The focus of Mr. Mercer's practice is on emerging growth companies in securities and M&A.

The placements of Craig Opperman and Carina Tan from Morgan Lewis & Bockius, into the Palo Alto office of Reed Smith. Mr. Opperman is an IP Counseling and Transactions partner who will help Reed Smith build their Intellectual Property practice in California. Ms. Tan was an associate at Morgan Lewis, but will join Reed Smith as a partner.

The placement of leading California patent litigation partner Lex Brainerd, formerly with Heller Ehrman, into Sonnenschein Nath & Rosenthal. Mr. Brainerd will split his time between Sonnenschein's San Francisco and Silicon Valley offices.

The placement of Diane Green-Kelly, an Antitrust Partner with expertise in Franchise and Distribution, as well as Tax and Escheatment law, from Mayer Brown into Reed Smith. Ms. Green-Kelly will head up the Antitrust practice for Reed Smith's Chicago office.

The placement of Richard Martin, an internationally recognized Securities Litigation partner and the former managing partner of Heller Ehrman's New York office, into the New York office of Orrick Herrington & Sutcliffe. Notably, Mr. Martin was the lead counsel to Deloitte & Touche in the Parmalat securities class-action litigation.

The placement of Geoffrey Aronow, former enforcement director of the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CTFC) and former managing shareholder of Heller Ehrman'sWashington office, into the Washington, D.C. office of Bingham McCutchen. Mr. Aronow's practice focuses on government enforcement actions, including proceedings at the Securities Exchange Commission, the CFTC and other regulatory agencies. Mr. Aronow has also served on the National Adjudicatory Council of NASD (now FINRA). This hire will help expand Bingham's international securities practice.

The placement of Intellectual Property Litigation partner Kathyleen O’Brien, from Morrison Foerster into the Century City office of Reed Smith.

The placement of John Zhang, a Corporate/China Practice partner from Greenberg Traurig into the Los Angeles office of Reed Smith.  Mr. Zhang will serve as a bridge between the U.S. and Chinese offices of Reed Smith.

The placement of Corporate and Securities partner Craig Mordock from the Orange County office of Morrison & Foerster, into Bingham McCutchen. 

The placement of Rob Dellenbach, a Corporate and Securities partner formerly of Fenwick & West, into the San Francisco office of Reed Smith.   Mr. Dellenbach focuses his practice on venture capital, private equity financing, starte-ups and mergers and acquisitions.

The placement of Allen Sussman, a Corporate and Securities partner from Morrison & Foerster, into the Los Angeles office of Reed Smith.  Mr. Sussman will help in the expansion of Reed Smith’s Capital Markets practice.

The placement of Sergio Garcia, former co-chairman of Fenwick & West’s Life Sciences group into the San Francisco office of Reed Smith.  Mr. Garcia will help build Reed Smith’s transactional Life Sciences capabilities on the West Coast.

The placement of partner Colleen McDonald from Sidley Austin, into the Financial Services Group in the San Francisco office of Reed Smith.

The placement of Richard Scudellari into Reed Smith to open that firm’s Palo Alto office. Mr. Scudellari, a corporate partner formerly with the Palo Alto office of Morrison & Foerster, represents emerging growth and Fortune 500 companies conducting business in the Silicon Valley.

The placement of Insurance Recovery partners David Halbreich and Douglas Rawles of Los Angeles, David Weiss of San Francisco and Thomas Marrinson of Chicago from Morgan Lewis, into Reed Smith. David Halbreich will lead the West Coast Insurance Recovery Practice at Reed Smith, filling a very strategic need within that discipline for the firm.

The placement of Wilson Sonsini’s entire Venture Fund Group, widely regarded as the most prominent unit of its kind on the West Coast, into the Palo Alto office of Goodwin Procter. This group includes Jonathan Axelrad, Robert Fore and Gerald Chacon, Jr.

The placement of Corporate and Securities partner Catharina Min, formerly of Squire Sanders, into the San Francisco office of Reed Smith.

The placement of Devin Cuyler, a Global Sourcing partner formerly of Pillsbury Winthrop, into the San Francisco office of Reed Smith.

The placement of Business and Finance partner Bradley DeJean, formerly of Thelen Reid, into the San Francisco office of Reed Smith.

The representation of Offner & Anderson, a four-lawyer firm in their search to be acquired by a larger law firm. This representation led to the placement of all four attorneys, including partners Dan Offner and David Anderson into the Los Angeles office of Nixon Peabody.

The placement of Timothy Pierce, a Construction Litigation partner from Thelen Reid & Priest, into the Los Angeles office of K&L Gates, to lead their West Coast Construction practice.

The placement of Harvey Schochet, a Real Estate partner who was a founding partner of Steefel Leveitt & Weiss, into the San Francisco office of Davis Wright Tremaine.

The representation of Sanders Barnet Goldman Simons & Mosk, a ten attorney boutique, in their search to be acquired by a larger law firm. The placement of nine partners including Edward Sanders, former Senior Counsel to President Carter on Middle Eastern Affairs, Irwin Barnet, Kenneth Goldman, Michael Sanders, James Eskilson, Deborah Gunny, Ruth Holzman, Edward Levine and Bernard Simons into the Los Angeles office of Crosby Heafey, which was acquired by Reed Smith.

The representation of Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe in their acquisition of the Orange County office of Lyon & Lyon, which included eight partners and a like number of associates. Partners joining Orrick include: James Geriak, Samuel Stone, Hope Melville, Kurt Mulville, David Wang, Kenneth Roberts, Jim Brooks ( Los Angeles office), and Jeffrey Miller ( Menlo Park office).

The placement of five partners from the Los Angeles office of Oppenheimer Wolff, including managing partner Mark Wine, Marc Brown, Charles Rosenberg, Cynthia Lock, and David Gelfound, into the Los Angeles office of McDermott Will & Emery, which initiated the Patent practice for that office.

The representation of Gartner & Young, a five attorney Los Angeles Labor and Employment boutique, in their search to be acquired by a nationally recognized law firm.

The representation of the Louderback Law Firm (an 11 attorney firm specializing in Employment & Commercial Litigation), in its merger with the Irvine based law firm of Payne & Fears, which resulted in the opening of Payne & Fears’ San Francisco office.

 The placement of Mark Levinson from the Los Angeles office of Luce Forward, as the partner who will lead the Corporate Finance practice at Alschuler Grossman Stein & Kahan.

The placement of Frank Ubell and Brad Blanche, two Patent Litigation attorneys from the Orange County office of Paul Hastings, into the Orange County office of Greenberg Traurig. Mr. Ubell was placed as a Shareholder, and Mr. Blanche as an Of Counsel.

The placement of Nancy Stagg, a Commercial Litigator specializing in Consumer Class Action Defense, from DLA Piper Rudnick Gray Cary, into the San Diego office of Fish & Richardson.

The placement of the three partners in that group, Naomi Young, Lawrence Gartner, and Kimberly Talley, was made at the Los Angeles office of Baker & Hostetler.

The representation of Price & Gess, a four attorney Orange County Patent Prosecution and Patent Litigation boutique, in their search to be acquired by a larger law firm. Joseph Price and Albin Gess were placed as partners at the Irvine office of Snell & Wilmer to initiate and develop the firm's Southern California Intellectual Property practice.

The placement of two Patent Prosecution partners from the Los Angeles office of Oppenheimer, Wolff: Charles Berman and Christopher Darrow into the Los Angeles office of Greenberg Traurig, which initiated their West Coast Patent practice.

The representation of Feldman & Talley, a four attorney Los Angeles Labor and Employment boutique, in their search to be acquired by a larger law firm. The placement of the two partners, Carla Feldman and Jill Talley, was made at Loeb & Loeb in Los Angeles , California.

The placement of Gregory Lippetz, an Intellectual Property Litigation partner, from Brobeck, Phleger & Harrison, into the San Francisco office of Bingham, McCutchen.

The placement of Steven Hazen, former Co-Chair of Paul Hastings' Asia Practice, into the Los Angeles office of Kelley Drye & Warren. After the closing of Kelley Drye, Los Angeles , Mr. Hazen was placed at the Los Angeles office of Davis Wright Tremaine.
